Enhance your presentation with an interesting transition

PowerPoint comes with a large selection of transitions for you to choose from. Here's how to add one:

1. Go to the View menu and click Slide Sorter.
2. Right click the slide you want to add the transition to and select Slide Transition.
3. Now you have a vast selection of transitions. Play around and see which one you'd prefer. When you click on a transition you'll get a preview of what it will look like on your thumb-nail slide. Do keep your audience in mind when you make a selection.
4. Once you've made your selection click the Apply to All Slides button at the bottom of the transition list window.
5. Click Slide Show to test it out.

Add a background sound to your slide

A background track can add ambience to your presentation, though such effects should be used judiciously so that they enhance rather than distract. Here's how to add a track from an audio CD to your PowerPoint presentation:

1. Go to the Insert menu and select Movies and Sounds.
2. Click Play CD Audio Track.
3. Insert the CD and a dialog box will appear. Select the track you'd like to play, as well as any other options you'd like.
4. Click OK.
5. You'll be asked whether you'd like the sound to play automatically or via a prompt. Select the one that you'd prefer. If you select a prompt, simply double-click the disk icon to start your music.
